Why a German Kündigung needs specific wording

Under § 314 and § 573c BGB, Germany accepts a contract cancellation only if it is in writing, names the contract number, states a clear cancellation date, and is signed. Informal email or phone cancellations are routinely ignored by gyms, internet providers, and insurers. You end up paying for months you never wanted.
