What are the requirements?

Given the current apartment shortage situation in Berlin, Move to Berlin can only
implement apartment searches under the following conditions:

  1. Should your life situation change (i.e. job change/loss) and new search criteria arise from it, we reserve the right to re-examine the feasibility of the search.
  2. We ask you to accept the conditions of the market. These are in particular: approximately 80% of the unfurnished apartments do not have a kitchen. It is uncommon for unfurnished apartments to be rented with a washing machine or dishwasher. Utility costs, such as electricity, gas and internet are additional costs, they go on top of the warm rent (Warmmiete).
  3. Every search for a permanent apartment has a fixed timeline of two months (eight weeks).
  4. Your search criteria must be realistic. You can either have a fixed budget with a flexible district preference or a fixed district with a flexible, generous budgetotherwise the search criteria are too limited.
  5. You provide Move to Berlin with complete application documents (these are defined by your consultant).
  6. Move to Berlin will not start a home search if you have a negative Schufa (personal credit rating).
  7. Please inform Move to Berlin (your consultant) of all your own efforts to find accommodation. This does not affect the contract with Move to Berlin should you
  8. find an apartment through your own efforts
  9. It is mandatory, by German law, that all permanent apartments are viewed personally by potential tenants. Therefore, Move to Berlin cannot go to viewings on your behalf.
  10. An application for an apartment, you have viewed, is binding. Therefore, please be certain that you are interested in renting the apartment.
  11. A lease contract means success – once you receive a rental contract, we consider our work as completed. Should you decide to withdraw, however, please consider that this means booking a new home search package.
  12. The customer can reject a rental contract, if it is contrary to the rental law or if it contains fraudulent elements.
  13. We do request appointments but cannot promise that you will be picked as a future tenant. Just to give you an impression, it takes up to 250 mail requests to get you one appointment.

The Home Search Permanent package, which includes personal assistance in finding a permanent home, is available for a cost of €2,600. This package provides extensive support throughout the entire home search process, ensuring that you find a suitable permanent accommodation in Germany.
